I've been noticing issues i have every time I tp to a new place on the server. Can't move, use items, break blocks etc. For me it lasts up to 10 minutes sometimes. I have no idea what the issue is, but I don't think its on my side. Let me know if theres anything I can do to help

The server has been restarted. Try again?

The not being able to move thing seems to have been fixed. The not being able to use items or break blocks or chat has not. But those are far less annoying.
Thanks,

Update:
Just had a new player jump on. right after welcoming them, they mentioned they were having terrible ping, and before I could ask them where they were they said they couldnt play and left. Described similar problems as I have been experiencing.

I've been going over server and firewall logs and can't find anything wrong on this end. Here's a graph showing the average round trip latency between my firewall and the Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AIX):
3680

Latency from the AIX to my firewall is about 2ms and there's not packet loss recorded. So either there is none, or very little.

Could you go to http://www.speedtest.net/ then select a server in Amsterdam and perform a download/upload/latency test.

Then try downloading a couple of files here and see how the speeds compare: http://speedtest.tweak.nl/

Please post the results.

Ping: 171ms Download: 9.9 Mbps Upload: 9.44 Mbps

The second link lead me to a page with download links of different sizes. clicking on any of them lead to a screen saying "Request denied from outside of our network"

I'm having problems as well. When I log on, chunks load very slowly, and when I interact with an object, it takes about one minute to respond.

relogged in and was able to move and place blocks but not remove/pick up blocks.

jumped off a building an took the damage a full minute later. access commands seem to be the issue. pushing e to access inventory is immediate but accessing a stack of wood takes a while.

placed the same fruit bush block 4 times in 10 min (shows down but rolls back to my inventory). could not eat food.

did the above speedtest:
Ping: 181ms Download: 43.96 Mbps Upload: 8.73 Mbps

I would check hard drives. Run additional tests if your system doesn't report any problems by itself. Lag doesn't have to be network related, if an app needs to first read from storage what it needs to later send on network, it can look the same. Seen it enough at work ;)

I am noticing a some delay directly after logging in (chat delay, block update, block placement/interactions) and later when teleporting to certain locations with many resources and chiselled blocks (such as towns Sherton, Serenity...). Those give me slight delay in chat.

Also the dynmap (especially in 3D surface mode, which is default) randomly freezes for me almost instantly after it finished loading.

Performed the test and got this result (http://www.speedtest.net/result/7444086909):

PING 39 ms
DOWNLOAD 101.27 Mbps
UPLOAD 10.10 Mbps

Values remained the same after 15 mins.

TPS are stabilized at 20.

Ok I just died of thirst while waiting for game to catch up. Incident occurred somewhere around fort_douglas. It's kinda hard to say where bc I dont actually know where I was compared to what I saw. If i could get a refund on items and xp thatd be great.

Thanks for your attentiveness to this problem.

It seems the issue was with incoming connections. When I tested locally, the outgoing connections were fine. This means that a speedtest for me was OK, but when someone would download a file from our web server (or play TFC on our server) things would be slow.

I've changed the network cards of the virtual machine that runs our firewall. Changed from VMXNET3 to E1000. Elborax downloaded a test file just now and got 9.6MB/s which is about what you would expect normally.

Please let me know if the problems with the TFC server are now resolved.

Any updates on refund? You don;t have to give them to me personally, I'll set up a chest in the middle of my road you can shove it all into whenever its convenient for you. If I am getting it back of course
