What is that Amd-Intel-Nvidia meme about?

AMD's upcoming Radeon 6000-series cards offer comparable performance to Nvidia's high-end cards but at a lower price and lower TDP. They also offer 16GB of VRAM while Nvidia's 3070(Ti) only has 8GB, the 3080 has 10 and only the 3090 has 24GB (for $1500+). The 3090 card that costs well over $500 more than the AMD RX 6900 XT and is only slightly faster.

So from a consumer perspective, the 3070 and 3080 cards are just not worth it. The 8GB VRAM just isn't enough for a current "high-end" card since we are already seeing games pushing beyond 8GB. So if you want a card that can just play any game with highest settings for the upcoming year or two, then Nvidia's cards just won't do. Add to that the completely botched launch of Nvidia's 3000-serie GPU's and they have practically given the holiday season to AMD.

Right now Nvidia is where Intel was about a year ago vs AMD. They are still slightly faster in games and their ray tracing is still convincingly faster (in all of ~35 games). But they are more expensive and use more power than AMD.

Guess what happened with Intel this year? They got wrecked. Completely stomped on. It's like you almost want to tell AMD to stop because the beating they're giving Intel is so bad. Intel used to be faster in single threaded performance than AMD was with the Ryzen 1000 and 2000-series CPU's. That has now changed. Not only is AMD faster in multi threaded applications (which they have been since the Ryzen 1000-series), they are also faster in single threaded performance and thus games now. AMD CPUs also more power efficient, cheaper and don't have dozens of security issues like Intel CPUs do.

So yeah. AMD is handing out naps left and right to both Intel and Nvidia.

    More on the funnies below:

Nvidia completely screwing over 2080Ti owners(beta testers) with the new 3070 cards.
